• 'The Track of the Hook' – (22.5-page story) – While aiding Commissioner Gordon in solving the murder of small time crook Whitey Marsh, Batman learns that the killer was wearing a hook. Deadman, having come to Gotham City to seek Batman's aid in finding his killer, believes the villain responsible, the Hook is in Gotham after overhearing the eye witness account of Marsh's murder. \nAiding Batman the two learn that the killer was not the man who Deadman is looking for, but a thug working for Kubla Kaine, a wealthy business man who is running for mayor and is secretly running a crime syndicate out of Gotham City. \nBatman and Deadman find the killer, who dies in combat, and they expose Kaine's involvement in the criminal underworld ruining his bid for mayor.: Condition: 6.5 FN+ 709 / 770 -

(Later we are informed that Rick knows the location because the Supreme Intelligence put this information inside his mind, in case he needed to save the Earth from 'doomsday.') \nThanos flies towards the Derniere Islands with Death and finds the Cosmic Cube, but Drax is already there to stop him. Meanwhile, Rick's romantic interest Lou-Ann goes to the Avengers' Mansion, asking for help with Rick Jones's membership card. Captain Marvel, Eros and Mentor battle Thanos' army of aliens controlling Titan and Captain Marvel fights against the Super-Skrull, killing him.: Condition: 8.5 VF+ 712 / 770 -

Following his defeat, Mar-Vell is saved by Isaac who reminds Mar-Vell what is at stake if Thanos is left to his own devices. \nMeanwhile, Thanos has made the entire population of Earth disappear and has assumed a god-like form. Mar-Vell with the help of Drax the destroyer and Mantis of the Avengers work together to battle the cube-empowered Thanos. In a struggle over the cube, Mar-Vell risks his life to destroy it, reversing all of the chaos wrought by Thanos, and making the demi-god's life forfeit to Death itself.: Condition: 8.5 VF+ 713 / 770 -

'Betrayal!' – (20-page story) – Captain Marvel enters Lou-Ann's apartment to ask her why she betrayed he and Rick Jones in the previous issue. Lou-Ann then tells him a story about Titan, Thanos and his army of alien warriors. She also tells about the mind controller device that Thanos installed in some of the most important men on Earth to conquer it, as well as Lou-Ann, before attacking Marvel with a ray-gun. Meanwhile at some place of the Universe, the Super-Skrull and Skragg are watching everything and controlling Lou-Ann movements and words. It is then revealed that Thanos is the master behind the Skrulls. He sends the Super-Skrull disguised as Human Torch to attack the Thing. He sends Thing to the same address where Lou-Ann send Rick Jones. At the place, Thing and Captain Marvel fight each other, both thinking that the other is actually the Super-Skrull. Skragg blocks Thing's ability to talk, so he can't explain himself to Marvel. The two heroes keep fighting until Marvel is about to kill the Thing, when he recovers his voice and explains the situation. After Skragg's plan fails, he is executed.
At the end, Thanos reveals himself, saying that Rick Jones has the information he needs. Thanos kidnaps Rick Jones and disappears, leaving Thing behind.: Condition: 6.0 FN715 / 770
