Aptly named for its well known owner, The Bell House is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Virginia Historic Landmark. The home was built in 1883 by Colonel J.O.P. Burnside, son of Civil War General Ambrose Burnside. The Colonel lost the house to the U. S. Government in a lawsuit over pay irregularities in the Union Army accounts. Owned next by Alexander Graham Bell’s father and then Alexander himself.
The home was run as a Bed and Breakfast for many years and is now closing its doors. The house is full of fabulous furniture and quality furnishings that will now be sold over a two day period. Mark your calendars and and come out and see us this labor day weekend for this one of a kind sale.
