We will sell all items at HALF PRICE on Sunday. Great opportunity to "come fine your treasure".
We have turned every page, read between the lines, swooned over our favorites and now wish to share the treasures of novelist and New York Times best seller Anne River Siddons. The riches she enjoyed are as imaginative as her pen. They are as eclectic and let's say wonderfully eccentric as one would hope for a southern belle and author.
As one would expect the library is extensive including a variety of interests, but for the lover of fiction this is paradise. Beyond our offering of Siddons' sixteen award winning titles there are countless autographed volumes from her peers. A special note for graduates of Princeton University, her husband Heyward's alma mater, there are volumes on its' history.
The collection of fine art and sculpture rivals any contemporary gallery. Select from oil paintings, watercolors, to historic samplers, wood carvings and bronze.
The furniture includes select labels Maitland-Smirth, Drexel Heritage, Henredon, Haute House and TRS. Some are trompe l'oeil, painted, gilded or stained. With the love of her precious cats Maggie and Maude there is evidence of some items to be shady chic. Animals become family.
Those that knew her well, exclaim the wonderful salons when there were gatherings of fertile minds. Always this gracious host and hostess served with glamorous table settings. There are multiple sets of china, crystal and silver. Yes, much of the silver is sterling including a coffee service, a pair of candelabra, and water pitcher.
For the divas, catch your breath for the costume jewelry is glamour just like the lady who wore it.
