Estate Treasures Deep Discounts Nathalie Dupree’s Moving Sale

Nathalie Dupree, a southern cookbook writer of 14 volumes and husband Jack Bass, a College of Charleston history professor have retired and moved from Charleston to be closer to family. Estate Treasures has been entrusted with their estate sale this week.

Nathalie not only wrote cookbooks, but was a featured culinary writer for the Post and Courier,  had a long standing cooking show on PBS and won multiple James Beards awards. Internationally she has been a leader of Les Dames d'Escoffier, an association for women in the culinary arts. 

Nathalie's earliest cookbook written when she was conducting the Rich's Department store's cooking school in Atlanta and aprons she wore on her TV shows are being sold. This money will go to the local Charleston chapter of Les Dames d'Escoffier. 

She had Cuisinart and Le Creuset as sponsors of her television series, so there are multiples of their fine equipment. Her batterie de cuisine will make the heart of any foodie or professional sing with joy. There is fine high end gadgets, machines, cookware, china, crystal, copper, ceramics, table linens and kitchen trinkets and souvenirs for all. There is an imaginative collection of corkscrews and bottle openers.

Let's talk books, so many books, certainly one of the largest private collection of cookbooks in America. There is also fiction and history and travel books.

Sets of china include Coalport Junetime, Seltmann Weiden, Villery and Boch Basket, Melina, Switch and Siena, Ansley Pembroke, Limoges, and CockCroft. Just imagine all the unique table accessories and collectibles.

Among the furniture  are  an antique Edwardian decorative art easel, a Davenport desk, a barrister's cabinet, a Victorian marble top table, and footstools. The Duncan Phyfe style dining table will be coveted when one considers all the notables who dined at this chef's table. The same goes for the drop-leaf rustic table in the kitchen where so many delicacies were created and what about the vintage butcher's block. Among the art collection is a Pachwai, Indian handprinted scene on silk.

Outside her garden was decoratively planted with broken china. Transplant it to your herb and vegetable garden.
