Box reads- This pipe made from clay by the Williamsburg Potter, Lightfoot, Virginia, is typical of those used extensively during Colonial times. An experienced archaeologist needs only fragments- - and countless thousands have been unearthed in the restoration of Williamsburg -- to date clay pipes by shape and size. This Tavern Pipe is a mid eighteenth-century model.
