It is with great pleasure that we invite you to join us for the Mrs. Harold C. (Carolyn) Price, Jr. sale of estate and collections in Bartlesville, OK July 18-21, 2019. We will offer the Price family collection, featuring property passed down from Harold and Mary Lou Price's home "Star View Farm" designed by Cliff May, memorabilia from the Price Tower, and contents from the Price's home "Hillside" designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.
Frank Lloyd Wright's iconic Price Tower, Oklahoma's "Prairie Skyscraper" was the headquarters for the family business, the H.C. Price Company. Often, business took the family to points around the globe. Mrs. Price traveled to China, throughout the Middle East, Europe, Japan and beyond. The aesthetic of the Price family home was heavily influenced by their close friendship with Frank Lloyd Wright and experiences from travel.
Although Mrs. Price no longer resided at Hillside, she moved her favorite things from Hillside to her current home. The home also reflects her affinity for Oklahoma and the Southwest, especially her fondness for New Mexico. In addition to the many things she brought with her, Mrs. Price enjoyed rich color and interesting textiles. She had an eclectic and artistic flair she often expressed in her Art to Wear, hand-created clothing and studio jewelry.
