An incredible art liquidation featuring the original work of Master Artist John E. Poti (05/21/27 – 02/20/2016). Mr. Poti was born in Hungary and came to the United States when he was 14 months old. While attending Harvey Rice Elementary School in Cleveland, a teacher recognized his creative talent and placed him in charge of chalkboard illustrations. John's unique artistry was continually enriched on his weekends by attending classes at the Cleveland Museum of Art. After graduating from East Technical High School, Poti entered into military service during World War II and served in the United States Army Signal Corp as a cryptographic technician. He attended Ohio Wesleyan University earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, then further developed his training and graduated from the presitgeous Cleveland Institute of Art.
Poti spent more than thirty years teaching art from elementary to high school pupils, and even adults in Cleveland, Ashtabula, and Bedford, Ohio. While at Bedford, he served in the capacity as Supervisor of Art for the entire school system. In addition, he once again returned to the Cleveland Museum of Art, but this time as an instructor, to inspire and guide other students, both young and not-so-young. John's work can be described as "realistic endeavors on sound artistic principles, with a light interpretation." Poti took much pride in his diverse creations, especially of Amish Life, workmen aboard ships, and circus acrobats.
John Poti's works have been exhibited in numerous shows and galleries throughout his career. Many of his works of art are now included in private collections, from professionals to politicians, and professors to ordinary folks who gain such rich enjoyment from his wonderful Masterpieces.
