A blue-and-red-lighted interior of surreal texture is visible through a distorting lens, when the lights are activated by a small button on one side of the box These shadowboxes were built c.1983 by Stephen Smith Daniell. At that time he was making some interesting and highly-detailed work, and soon after became an award-winning art furniture designer and builder.
