Martin Maier Camel Back A rare find especially in the south. This is truly our Showroom piece. All original…We chose not to restore this in any way because of its original shape. Martin Maier established his trunk business in 1865 at the age of 25 in Detroit Mich. This was 2 years after joining the Union Army in St Louis and participating in the march to the Sea from Atlanta. Martin Maier was known for making much of his own MM hardware just as you will find on this trunk. Both leather handles have 68 stamped on them which is unusual, but possibly a patent date of 1868. It has a double lock patent Oct. 1871 is quite ornate. It also has some Charles Taylor #2 latches and hardware as well. The inside is equally pristine. All original lithographs with two hat boxes and center tray. *Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs. 37L x 22D x 30H -
Bench Flat Top A unique trunk. Created for the laid-back office, beautiful and comfy. The outside has been totally redone to a gorgeous finish and rustic hardware. The inside is open except for the cushion that has been custom fitted. Thanks to my friends at Made By Missy in Fayetteville, NC. *Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs. 34L x 21D x 24H -
Child’s Camel Back One of our nicest Children’s trunks. Much like our larger Martin Maier…all original. The very first question you must ask yourself when considering restoration is…do I leave it original or do a total restoration? We only have two that we have not touched. This is a beautiful Child’s trunk for any home or showroom. *Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs. 14L x 9D x 10H -
1870's Camel Back Featuring Charles Taylor Bolts This trunk would be known as a Camel Back trunk. It has a brass Star lock on it with a Patent date of May 11th 1876. One year after the Civil War. It also has cast iron #2 J. H. Sessions latches or Charles Taylor bolts. This beautiful trunk has been refinished inside and out. Camel Back Manufactured In Atlanta A real history piece. This is an Abe Foote and Brothers trunk manufactured in Atlanta Ga. This trunk could date back within 12 or 15 years after Atlanta burned. It’s amazing what could be produced that soon after such a disaster. Much of the hinges and hardware looks to be from John Sessions, one of the most well-known trunk hardware manufacturers back then. A real piece of history. *Please note we can ship this item although it is marked pickup only, just know there will be additional costs. 33L x 20D x 25H -
