Terms and Conditions
The lots listed in this catalog are from the living estate of Mary Ann Gough and are being offered by Sterling Transitions Inc. as agent for consignor(s) subject to the following terms and conditions. By bidding at the auction you agree to be bound by these conditions of sale.
***Please note** Due to the Coronavirus, we have NEW pick up instructions listed below in order to ensure everyone's safety. If you are unable to follow these guidelines then we kindly ask that you refrain from bidding.
*All pick ups are by appointment only. After auction closes Tuesday, please REPLY to our email with your preferred pick up time. Wait for our confirmation to your emailed request before you come for pick up. We ask that you pick up according to the following schedule.
Pick up Schedule:
Wednesday, April 15: Small items only from 12:00PM to 6:00pm (anything that can fit in a few boxes is considered small)
Thursday, April 16: Large/Small items from 8:30am to 2:00pm
Friday, April 17: Large/Small items from 11am to 3pm
*You MUST bring help to pick up large items. We CANNOT assist. Call a friend or hire help if needed or please don't bid!
*Everyone is required to wear gloves and mask during pick up. We will have available if needed.
*Pay on Paypal or by phone PRIOR to arriving for pick up.
*We encourage you to have your items shipped, if possible.
*Exact address will be emailed with your final invoice at the end of the auction.
* We have limited staff, so please be patient!

ONLINE SALE DATES: Bidding starts at 6:00am, Tuesday March 31st. Lots will close every minute starting with Lot 1 at 3:00pm on Tuesday, April 14th. Individual closings will be extended 5 minutes when a new bid comes in within 5 minutes of lot closing.
PICK UP: Pick up your winnings in North Asheville, NC by appointment on one of three days, Wednesday , April 15th through Friday, April 17th. This is by Appointment only. Details of the pick up plan will be included with the invoice sent out at the end of the auction. Please do not come any other time without prior approval.
SHIPPING: Shipping is offered within the Continental US for some lots in this sale. We will work with our local UPS store at 828-252-6930. Call them for a shipping quote. You must pay for your winning invoice and email (firstname.lastname@example.org) us your shipping address and phone number before 6:00pm on Wednesday, April 14th. Once paid, we will take items to the UPS Store and they will contact you with shipping options and pricing. If you would like an estimate, please call the store at 828-252-6930 with the item measurements. If item is left at UPS for two weeks and you have not returned their calls then our staff will donate the items even if it has been paid for. No refunds.
PAYMENT INFO: You will receive an EMAIL with an attached invoice from Sterling Transitions Inc AFTER THE CLOSE OF THE AUCTION, not after the item was sold. This email will include payment instructions via PayPal and instructions for pick up and shipping. Paypal requires a secure sign in and accepts all credit card payments. Buyer will need an account on Paypal.com and will use our email address to make payment, email@example.com, for payment on PayPal. or by typing in the following into your web browser. “https://www.paypal.me/SterlingTransitions” Call or Email us if you prefer a different payment method. *All buyers will need to pay with credit card by PayPal or over the phone prior to pickup. **All items must be paid for before end 6:00pm Wednesday, April 15th by using Paypal or call / email us to communicate other payment preferences. Bring your paid invoice with you to pick up. TAXES -As of February 2020, We are now required by the State of North Carolina to collect sales tax for items sold at auction. This sale has a 7% tax rate that you will see on your invoice. If you are tax exempt, please update your estatesales.org profile and email us a copy (or bring in person) your tax exempt paperwork so we can remove the tax from your invoice and keep your document for our records.
SOLD AS IS No Guarantee: Everything is sold “As-is, Where-is” without guarantees of any kind. No Exceptions! Neither the auctioneer nor any consignor or staff member makes any warranties or representation of any kind or nature with respect to the property, and in no event shall they be deemed to have made any representation or statement at the sale or elsewhere to mean otherwise. Due diligence to verify the condition and description of a lot is the sole responsibility of the Bidder prior to placing any bid. No Returns.
Sterling Transitions Inc, offers lot descriptions to the best of its knowledge presented solely for the convenience of the Purchaser. Prospective bidders should investigate a lot thoroughly before bidding by reviewing all photos and descriptions and coming to preview prior to bidding. Sterling Transitions Inc. does not accept liability for any omissions or mistakes in the description or photos. A 15% Buyers Premium is added to all sold lots and is the responsibility of the buyer to pay. By bidding the Bidder acknowledges that Bidder has investigated the lot to his or her satisfaction or that Bidder has chosen not to do so, and agrees to accept the lot being bid on with no objections after the sale closes. If you are uncertain please contact us by email at email@example.com with your questions PRIOR to bidding. If you are still uncertain after we reply, please refrain from bidding.
We understand that sometimes things happen, so we ask for communication on your part as soon possible to let us know if you need to change pick up or cancel your bid. If we do not hear from you or you do not pay for your goods by the end of the designated time then we will be unable to allow you to bid in future auctions with us. We apologize for the strict policy but this puts us in an unnecessary bind and we just ask you to call or email us ASAP if plans have changed.
