Extremely Rare Replogle Duncan Phyfe Globe
This item is an incredible find. In 1932 Luther & Elizabeth Replogle started their globe company in a little apartment in Chicago. The used Glass Spheres & covered them in early English maps. This is a lighted globe, however it will need to be rewired. (I wasn't even trying it) This globe has all the markings of the early 1932 globes. This beautiful globe has some slight color loss in spots. It also has a couple pencil eraser size complete loss spots, as pictured. This beauty sits atop a beautiful mahogany Duncan Phyfe Stand with Brass hardware and accoutrements. It features Acanthus leaves on the pedestal & the feet are capped in brass. This is a museum quality piece. We will ship, however, you will need to make arrangements for a pick up & pack with a shipping company. This item is worth near $1000. It will be worth it to get the glass globe there in the beautiful condition it is in now.
