For sale is a stunning, highly collectible matching set of three (3) antique 19th-century French porcelain decorative cabinet plates. Manufactured in Limoges, France, in 1846, this set features exquisitely detailed, hand-painted portraits of prominent French historical figures from the royal court.Each plate features a scalloped rim adorned with intricate, heavy gold-leaf filigree and geometric patterns.Historical Figures Included:Madame du Barry (Jeanne Bécu, Countess du Barry) – The last Chief Mistress of King Louis XV.Madame de Montespan (Françoise-Athénaïs de Rochechouart) – The celebrated Chief Mistress of King Louis XIV.Louis de France, Duc de Bourgogne (Duke of Burgundy) – Depicted in traditional royal ceremonial armor.Rare Provenance & Markings (On Back):French Factory Mark: Stamped blue hallmark with code "S.46" confirming an 1846 production date.American Luxury Retailer Stamp: Stamped in red: "R.J. Allen Son & Co. Philadelphia". These were custom-commissioned for the high-end Gilded Age importer on Market Street in Philadelphia.Handwritten Titles: Each plate features the historical figure's name handwritten in elegant red cursive script.Condition:Excellent antique condition. There are no chips, cracks, or repairs. The hand-painted central portraits remain vibrant and beautifully preserved. Very minor, age-appropriate shelf wear on the base rings and minimal gilt wear as expected for 180+ year-old porcelain (see photos). Note: The wire wall-hanging springs shown in the photos are included.
