Beautiful footed cups and saucers by Arabia. Valencia is a discontinued pattern. This is a rare opportunity to add this stunning set to your collection. This is a set of 10 cups and saucers.
Cups: 2 ½” H x 3 ⅞” W
From the maker's website: In 1960s Arabia introduced this beautifully designed pattern called 'Valencia' in stoneware with hand-painted decoration underglaze in tones of midnight blue.
This striking pattern was the masterpiece of its designer, artist Ulla Procopé (1921-1968), who worked for Arabia from 1948 to 1968.
In the beginning 'The Valencia' series included e.g. egg cups, bon bonnier, candle holders, and cutting boards which were all discontinued in late 1980's. A small part of Valencia tableware continued production until the end of the year 2002. On December 31, 2002 the production of the Valencia pattern discontinued for good.
All Valencia dishes are signed on the bottom with ARABIA Finland and the initials of the designer/painter.
