A yellow dog zooms past in a little red car. A pink poodle on a scooter waves hello. Green dogs, blue dogs, big dogs, little dogs — they’re all racing somewhere, and every page is pure motion, color, and joy. P.D. Eastman’s 1961 masterpiece remains one of the most beloved Beginner Books ever printed. From the legendary “Do you like my hat?” “I do not.” exchange that every child has shouted aloud, to the final spectacular dog party high in the tree, this book is sixty-four pages of nonstop fun, simple words, and pictures that practically leap off the page. This is an early hardcover edition — bright red spine, white center white band, blue end, glossy laminated cover, and the proud “I Can Read It All By Myself” badge exactly as it appeared in the early years. The binding is still tight, the colors vivid. A cornerstone of every childhood library, an absolute must-have for new readers, and a nostalgic treasure for anyone who ever answered “I do NOT like that hat!” with perfect timing.
