PHYLLIS MORRIS began her design career in 1953 in Los Angeles, California by creating the "Poodle Lamp," a sculpture of her own poodle topped with a little flared shade. Within months she was casting them by the dozens and personally delivering them to clients in her pink convertible Cadillac. One of her special design furniture creativity includes those made of pear wood one of the best materials while also being extremely rare. This gorgeous bed was purchased 1997 and it is almost in in the same conditions as when it was purchased. Oversize bed made of pear wood, exceptional hand carving all over including the large headboard which has recessed lights, hand carved wood from the legs to the headboard and the foot board. The bed is accompanied by two large nightstands with minor scratches since the set was kept in storage most of the time and seldom used. If you are looking for perfection, here it is! A design customer made bedroom set which is the "Barcelona" model and is not available anywhere as of now, based upon our search. At the time of the purchase, the bed was way over $38,000 and the two nightstands had an original price of $15,000. The headboard measures 88" in height and goes up to 94" if we include the top design. The width of the headboard is 85" with a length of 104". The foot board has a height of 37" and a width of 105". Each nightstand stays 38" tall with a length of 42" and a width of 22". The entire set is in great conditions offered at a fraction of the price. The bottom of the headboard is signed Phyllis Morris in wood.
