The colors are vibrant and the definition perfect. It has 'The Falconer' impressed in the back, his falcon forms the handle. Falconry was and is, a means used for hunting, this sport dates to the Chinese Culture about 2000 BC. In England, Henry VIII found it to be his favorite hobby. The designer of this detailed jug was Max Henk. This piece was produced by Royal Doulton from 1959 through 1991, it was the green Lion and Crown Royal Doulton back stamp.
