Superb figurine entitled 'The Opium Smoker', showing a young girl smoking opium pipe. The level of details is incredible and blanc de chine shows every line perfectly! This figurine was designed by Arno Malinowski for Royal Copenhagen. Malinowski worked at Royal Copenhagen as a sculptor from 1921 to 1935. He created 11 models which were available in blanc-de-chine and overglaze painted. At the 1925 Paris Exhibition he received distinction for his group of works, the best known of which is The Opium Smoker Great as a gift or for a collector!
