This rare find is a wood and marble dry sink made by Princess Dressing Case Co. of Michigan. The patent dates on the door date back as far as 1856. The sink and it’s surrounding base are marble, with a brass and metal plug. There is a water collection bucket that is metal with wood handle in the bottom cabinet, which also has a small wooden rod towel rack (note the door doesn’t close fully leaving a quarter inch gap). On the right side of the sink are 2 compartments possibly for water storage; there is a hole from one compartment to the other that would suggest it’s for drainage. These compartments are tin with wood tops. All hinges are solid brass (note the hinge for the lid needs to be reattached. Although the top of the lid has blemishes, this piece is well worth refinishing. Measures 27†wide x 22†deep x 30†tall. Local Pickup Only - item is heavy, bring help.
