This is a rare find Artist Proof Print by listed Kentucky artist Norman Kohlhepp. Unframed but lightly mounted to poster board with a yellowed mat. Has a clear sheet of acetate covering it for protection. If this is sold out of our local pick up area, we will remove it and roll it up for safest and most economical shipping. Actual paper size is 20-inches X 26-inches. Norman Kohlhepp (1892-1986) Kohlhepp was a major figure in the Louisville arts community from the 1930s through his death. He was a graduate of Manual High School and was trained as a metallurgical engineer. Kohlhepp served in France during World War I and returned there to study art after the war. He attended the Academie Colarossi and the Academie de la Grande Chaumiere. But he was most influenced by cubist Andre Lhote. Kohlhepp supported the Louisville School of Art and the Art Center. His works are in the collections of the Speed Art Museum, the Howard Steamboat Museum, the Smithsonian American Art Museum and the University of Louisville. He was the subject of a major retrospective at the Howard Steamboat Museum in 2006. Kohlhepp’s first wife, Dorothy, was also an artist. They had met in Paris, and she prompted his interest in art.
