1963 watercolor by Santa Barbara artist Russell Antonio Ruiz (1925-1988). Subject is a 2 story building that looks to be made of Adobe Bricks. Not sure if the building still stands. Ruiz was a direct descendent of Felipe de Goicoechea, early commandant of the Spanish Rota Presidio in Santa Barbara. A local historian he spent 30 years donating his time to the restoration of the Presidio. His drawings of early Santa Barbara history appear in many publications. The watercolor is on paper and not framed, it measures apprx 15" x 10.5". Condition as seen in pictures. Some brown around the edges.
