This medal was issued in 1816 and given to all the men who were in British service and fought in the Battle of Ligny, and Battle of Quatre Bras, or the Battle of Waterloo during the Napoleonic Wars. It was also issued to all next of kin of anyone killed in one of these battles. The soldiers were thereafter known as "Waterloo Men." This replica is framed with a history of the medal. A portrait of the Prince Regent is on the front. Approximately 38,000 were actually awarded. There is also a First Day cover framed with the medal.
