This fascinating mask is likely made by the Igbo peoples of Afrikpo, Nigeria. 19th-20th century. Made of wood, pigment, cloth and cowrie shell earrings. There is a woven cloth band around the outer rim of the mask. An attached banded wood bowl sits on top of the mask. 20" high x 11.5" wide. Shows age.
