The daughter of two well-known New Orleans artists, Charles and Vera Reinike, Audre Reinike de Buys cared out her own career as a painter of murals, birds, and flora. Her hand painted murals grace the walls and ceilings of several New Orleans mansions and also the home of famed radio commentator Paul Harvey. Ms. De Buys was born in 1935 and passed away in 2010. She lived on Coliseum Street for many years and her estate was sold by Neal Auction Company. This offering is fresh to the market - a large painting of birds in flight done on silk in a gilded frame.
