Interesting pair of polished Ammonite fossil pierced earrings set in 14kt gold mounts (tested) with 14kt gold backs (marked). The Ammonite was a creature that flourished in the Paleozoic and Mesozoic Periods (408 to 65 million years ago). They are closely related to today's Nautilus, Octopus, and Squid. Each measures 1/2 inch across. Good condition. The scrap price of the gold is less than the opening bid.
