LOT 1178 Vintage Remington Model 512 .22 Bolt Action Rifle – 1948 Barrel Date – Collector’s Favorite

Offered is a vintage Remington Model 512 The Sportmaster rimfire rifle — a classic mid-century bolt-action .22 with the original tubular magazine and traditional one-piece hardwood stock. The stamped barrel code LTT dates the barrel to Feb. 1948, placing this piece squarely in Remington’s post-WWII production run. There is no serial number stamped on this rifle. The Model 512 was produced from the 1940s into the early 1960s and is prized by collectors and plinkers for its high-capacity tubular magazine, smooth bolt, and solid handling.  Condition: • Overall good original condition for age with honest wear and patina consistent with a 1940s-era rifle (see closeups). • Metal finish: original blue showing thinning/wear in places consistent with age. • Stock: solid hardwood with expected handling marks and small dings — no major cracks (photos show actual condition). • Bore/Barrel • Function check: (bolt cycles smoothly, magazine feeds.
