This first LOT contains eight (8) assorted vintage lapel/tie pins from various governmental/state agencies with one exception: the NRA-We the People pin. The other pins are from the: San Francisco Naval Yard; US Navy; the American Registry; the National Association of Supervisors Department of Defense; Veterans of Foreign Wars; the California State Police; Armed Forces USA Enlisted SPC E-4 Rank. The date range on these pins appear to be from the 1940s-1970s, but the SPC, the VOFW and the DOD pins may date earlier. (I found an Internet site that stated the 15 on the DOD pin meant 1915...which may be true, but I couldn't locate any other mention - or physical evidence of - that same pin with another number; I did, however, find that same pin with the number 17 and 'Board of Postal Supervisors' in the same location as 'Department of Defense'.) Of particular interest are the CA State Police and American Registry pins simply because I was unable to locate a Web image anywhere, nor find them on eBay, etc. Where I was able to find various American Registry pins throughout the years, I was unable to find any that had the P T T S initials, or that had this pin's coloring. Regarding the CA State Police pin, I was able to find the same image on patches and/or other items, but couldn't find the pin itself. Something tells me these two may be the diamonds in the rough....or not. All pins are in very good condition, and a few pins, like the USMC cap badge and the VOFW, could use a good cleaning.
