Item # 105     This is a French made rifle manufactured by D Armes St. Etienne from 1866-1874     This is Serial #15689.     This Chassepot rifle of 1866 was a single shot bolt-action military rifle mainly used between 1870-1871 , and was among the best of it's kind in 1866. It was quickly surpassed, principally by the British Martini-Henry which was a cartridge breach load style rifle. So this M1866 was discontinued 1874.     This rifle is military use stamped on the stock along with the serial number on the bolt action and the stock. Cost: $1250.00
