Very nice pottery water pitcher with ice lip in hand painted blue and white Greek palmette pattern, Made by Icarus for Sea Fare of the Aegean restaurant in New York City. Sea Fare of the Aegean was the third restaurant opened by Christos Bastis to feature the seafood and Mediterranean cooking of his native Greece. It opened in 1963 at 25 West 56th Street, New York City and was one of the most popular restaurants in New York in its heyday. The restaurant featured his growing collection of fine and ancient art now on view at several New York art museums. Excellent condition. 10" x 7" x 11 1/2"
