Green wasn't as well known for his successful grocery store in the middle of Woodbury during the late 1800s as much as he was known for his pigeons. He claimed to have the largest pigeon lofts in America. He won speed awards for his homing pigeons which is referenced in the Fanciers' Journal issue dated July 5, 1890. You can also see his pigeon ads in that issue. It appears his grocery store used to be located at the end of Hopkins St. perhaps where the convenience store is now?
