This is a 1974-S clad Eisenhower dollar proof graded PCGS PR69 Deep Cameo (DCAM) – essentially a perfect coin to the naked eye. The PR69 grade indicates only the tiniest microscopic imperfections under high magnification, while the Deep Cameo designation confirms the dramatic black-on-white contrast between the frosted devices and mirror-like fields that collectors demand in 1970s proof Ikes. Although 1974-S clad proofs were minted in large numbers (~2.6 million), very high-grade DCAM examples have become increasingly popular in recent years as collectors build top-tier modern proof sets. PR69 DCAM is the highest regularly seen grade for this date (PR70 DCAM is a major rarity with population under 50).
