This piece was produced by Monique Sculptures. It showcases the hallmark Art Deco Revival design known for elegant, elongated limbs and dynamic sense of motion. This statue depicts a dancer, or ballerina, in motion. It is crafted from frosted lucite, which gives it a luminous, ethereal quality, and appears to glow when placed near a light. This beautiful piece was manufactured in the late 19th or early 20th century in Kendallville, Indiana, by the McCray Refrigeration Company. It is constructed of quarter-sawn oak, and features brass hinges and latches, all of which appear to be original. The doors open, close, and latch as they should. The interior has been painted, and the shelves have been covered with contact paper, and may or may not be original to the icebox. There is age related wear. Measurement: 52.5”H x 40”W x 25”D. Elba Alvarez was a Venezuelan-American artist known for her abstract paintings and limited edition prints. This serigraph features an abstract conical style subject matter in a chrome frame. This lovely MCM piece has an egg-shaped and egg-sized high polished smoky quartz “spinner” cabochon pendant, hanging from a silver tone chain. The stone is the size of a small egg, and rotates 360 degrees inside of a silver tone bezel. One piece of the metal on the base is cracked, and needs a weld. The quartz will not fall out unless manipulated. Measurement of stone: 2” x 1.5”. Pre-auction estimate: $50-$100. [MM] -
These stoneware pieces feature “Albany” type slip glaze, which gives them a rich, dark brown finish. They make great farmhouse decor. One has a crack on the side. Makers include Relco, Commodore, and more. These hand painted whimsical mugs feature dapper “Pop” characters, with details like mustaches and bow ties. The lids are shaped like hats that, when flipped over, function as ashtrays. These are crafted from ceramic or porcelain, and made in Japan in the 1950s and 1960s. Total of four 3-piece sets. Includes a half-gallon jar, blueish in color, made between 1923 and 1933; a quart jar, greenish/blue in color, made between 1900 and 1910 (also known as a “triple L” jar); and a pint jar, clear glass, made between 1933 and 1962.
