This is an amazing piece; it must be seen to be appreciated. It is also very heavy, likely carved from one tree. The copper infill nearly jumps off the chair. We prefer local pickup due to weight of this item. From the artist: Beauty in transformation, the evolution of life cycles. Weeping Patina represents the many forest impacted by climate change and the harsh wildfires that have ravished our environment. From the ashes life is reborn and transformed, from the ashes we all must rise to help heal our Mother Earth. Weeping Patna was created by sanding, steel brush textures, the tree carved and filled with copper. The finish will mesmerize as the colors change in the shifting light. Changing green hues created from phthalocyanine, crushed malachite and tigers eye minerals and sealed with polyurethane. Nicole Ashton is local Reno artist. There is a Reserved Bid on this piece. The Reserve must be met to be sold. -

With a swivel seal fob, originally used as a stamp to seal wax on letters. The bar along the top is tested 10K gold, and holds the pin bar and catch. In front of the bar is a tested 14K gold circle that attaches to the intricate metalwork that is bronze or brass. It is worn on pocket watch chains or also as a pendant. The swivel mechanism has a foiled floral scene on one side, and the reverse is probably Scottish agate. This is a very handsome piece. It may date to the 1870s or 1880s.
