Simon & Garfunkel / Sounds of Silence. C.1965. VTG original.(Copyright 1965 by Eclectic Music Co.) Vinyl is NM. Cover is POOR/FAIR, it's had a hard life, split seams at top and bottom, other damage, but print is still legible. Paper sleeve is OK. This is one of the all time greatest albums by the duo. Some of these songs still get play today! Such as, “I Am A rock”, “The Sounds Of Silence” and “We've Got A Groovey Thing Goin' ”. NOTE that “Groovy” is misspelled as “Groovey” in the song title :-) on the cover AND the record label. Did anybody else catch that? It's recorded & pressed in what Columbia called “360 Sound” which was playing on the then popular & hot “quadraphonic sound” scheme of the day which eventually became “surround sound” as we know it today. Pretty cool! This is a peculiar version not listed on discogs.com . It also has different matrix numbers stamped in the dead wax. Side 1: XSM112380 1C Side 2: XSM112381 1AJ also not listed on discogs.com . VERY ODD! So this is an unusual issue with the title “Sounds of Silence” in green lettering and the 1965 copyright for Eclectic Music where most issues have blue title lettering and 1966 copyrights. The only other issue listed with a 1965 copyright is from Columbia with an ID# of PC 9269 instead of CS 9269. Again, VERY ODD! So this must be a very RARE version and highly collectible! Stereo. James Taylor / Sweet Baby James. C. 1970. VTG original.(green label). This was his second album, but the one that launched his career. His first album in1968 titled “James Taylor” was apparently a flop. This is the Terre Haute IN pressing with record label errors increasing it's collectibility. Track A6 is misspelled as "Oh, Susanna" on record, but spelled as "Oh, Susannah" on back or cover. Track B5 is printed as "Suite For 20 G" on record, but as "Suite For 20G" on back of cover. Vinyl is XF, not quite perfect. Cover is G/VG, some rub wear. Folded poster and original paper sleeve are gone, paper sleeve replaced. Hit songs included are: “Fire And Rain” and “Country Road”. Also included are: “Sunny Skies”, “Steamroller” and more. Some consider “error” versions to be highly valuable collectibles. Another interesting fact about this album: In the inner 'Matrix Runout' area of side 2 where the matrix number should be is hand etched “THAT'S ALL FOLKS” with a line scratched through it. Somebody's twisted humor with reference to Warner Bros. Cartoons that ended with that phrase by Porky Pig. It's barely visible, but it IS there. It's noted in Discogs info page about this album as part of “variant 3” matrix numbers. Another cool reason to collect this album. Stereo. Warner Bros. Records ID= WS 1843 -

The Beatles / Yesterday And Today. C.1966. VTG original with RARE “second state” butcher cover! Vinyl is EX/XF. Cover & original sleeve are POOR- condition. Cover is split at seams and has been mistreated and that's a shame because this is an example of the infamous “second state” butcher cover. Sleeve is also split at edge seams but faces are intact. The original cover was deemed “too offensive” for the American market and new art work (as shown here) replaced the original. In a rush to market move, a few original covers had the new art work “slick” glued over the original cover art and this appears to be one of them. That makes this RARE “second state” butcher cover a highly valuable collectible even in it's POOR- condition! Record has the old Capitol “rainbow” label. Included hit singles are: “Yesterday”, “If I Needed Someone”, “We Can Work It Out”, “Drive My Car”, “Nowhere Man” and more. Eleven tracks total. U.S. version. Mono. Capitol Records ID= T-2553
