Simon & Garfunkel / Sounds of Silence. C.1965. VTG original.(Copyright 1965 by Eclectic Music Co.) Vinyl is NM. Cover is POOR/FAIR, it's had a hard life, split seams at top and bottom, other damage, but print is still legible. Paper sleeve is OK. This is one of the all time greatest albums by the duo. Some of these songs still get play today! Such as, “I Am A rock”, “The Sounds Of Silence” and “We've Got A Groovey Thing Goin' ”. NOTE that “Groovy” is misspelled as “Groovey” in the song title :-) on the cover AND the record label. Did anybody else catch that? It's recorded & pressed in what Columbia called “360 Sound” which was playing on the then popular & hot “quadraphonic sound” scheme of the day which eventually became “surround sound” as we know it today. Pretty cool! This is a peculiar version not listed on discogs.com . It also has different matrix numbers stamped in the dead wax. Side 1: XSM112380 1C Side 2: XSM112381 1AJ also not listed on discogs.com . VERY ODD! So this is an unusual issue with the title “Sounds of Silence” in green lettering and the 1965 copyright for Eclectic Music where most issues have blue title lettering and 1966 copyrights. The only other issue listed with a 1965 copyright is from Columbia with an ID# of PC 9269 instead of CS 9269. Again, VERY ODD! So this must be a very RARE version and highly collectible! Stereo.
