TECHNICS SL-D2 turntable, “C.1980 state of the art” direct drive Hi-Fi Stereo turntable. Designed and built for USA market 120V AC electricity, unlike the used imports from Japan currently on ebay built for Japan's 100V electricity, Beware! This is a “ONE OWNER” previously owned and well cared for item. It is the ancestor of today's current production TECHNICS SL-1200GME (SL-1200X series) (sold at 'upscaleaudio. com') current state of the art, top of the line turntables used by professional D-Js ! The SL-D2 is so well built that with proper care it could very easily outlive it's next owner(s). The direct drive system means NO drive belt to brake and no motor brushes to replace. Effectively no parts in the motor/turntable mechanism to periodically replace. Just a light cleaning and a drop of oil from time to time. This is a “lifetime” investment. It boasts a double vibration isolation structure with suspended base feet and TNRC, an acoustic material with excellent vibration absorption characteristics for the cabinet and base components. In addition, it is designed to minimize unnecessary resonance space (beat) as much as possible and to absorb vibration most effectively. In essence, by design it minimizes record “skip” caused by bump, bass, footsteps, etc. The bearing structure of the tone arm employs a high-sensitivity “gimbal” suspension system with an in-house high-precision pivot bearing. TECHNICS SL-D2 turntable, “C.1980 state of the art” direct drive Hi-Fi Stereo turntable. Designed and built for USA market 120V AC electricity, unlike the used imports from Japan currently on ebay built for Japan's 100V electricity, Beware! This is a “ONE OWNER” previously owned and well cared for item. It is the ancestor of today's current production TECHNICS SL-1200GME (SL-1200X series) (sold at 'upscaleaudio. com') current state of the art, top of the line turntables used by professional D-Js ! The SL-D2 is so well built that with proper care it could very easily outlive it's next owner(s). The direct drive system means NO drive belt to brake and no motor brushes to replace. Effectively no parts in the motor/turntable mechanism to periodically replace. Just a light cleaning and a drop of oil from time to time. This is a “lifetime” investment. It boasts a double vibration isolation structure with suspended base feet and TNRC, an acoustic material with excellent vibration absorption characteristics for the cabinet and base components. This was Ricky's second album of three original albums plus a later greatest hits compilation. The single "Poor Little Fool" from the album became the first number-one hit song on Billboard magazine's then new “Hot 100” chart. “I'm In Love Again” was released as a single in 1963 and made it to the “Billboard Hot 100” .this is a real treasure and amazing that it exist in such good condition. TECHNICS SL-D2 turntable, “C.1980 state of the art” direct drive Hi-Fi Stereo turntable. This is a “ONE OWNER” previously owned and well cared for item. It is the ancestor of today's current production TECHNICS SL-1200GME (SL-1200X series) (sold at 'upscaleaudio. com') current state of the art, top of the line turntables used by professional D-Js ! The SL-D2 is so well built that with proper care it could very easily outlive it's next owner(s). The direct drive system means NO drive belt to brake and no motor brushes to replace. Effectively no parts in the motor/turntable mechanism to periodically replace. Just a light cleaning and a drop of oil from time to time. This is a “lifetime” investment. It boasts a double vibration isolation structure with suspended base feet and TNRC, an acoustic material with excellent vibration absorption characteristics for the cabinet and base components. In addition, it is designed to minimize unnecessary resonance space (beat) as much as possible and to absorb vibration most effectively. In essence, by design it minimizes record “skip” caused by bump, bass, footsteps, etc. The bearing structure of the tone arm employs a high-sensitivity “gimbal” suspension system with an in-house high-precision pivot bearing. This enables horizontal and vertical rotational axes to intersect at a single point, achieving an initial motion sensitivity of only 7mg, both horizontal and vertical motion. It is equipped with a “State of the Art” in the day “Pickering” cartridge and stylus assembly including hard case & data sheet.
