Pair of Chinese Cloisonne vases - simply beautiful. Stamp on base translates to: Made in the Jingtai reign of the Great Ming dynasty. This inscription is a reign mark commonly found on Chinese porcelain, cloisonne, and other items. Jingtai Reign: The Jingtai Emporer ruled during the Ming Dynasty from 1449 to 1457 - so these are OLD!! As one would expect, there are many condition issues - we tried to show the major issues. They are sturdy however, and impressive even with the imperfections. We have included a note found inside one of the vases - clearly the seller had written to this expert to ask about his items back in 1981. The expert had the dates of the Ming dynasty of 1368-1644. He also mentions the neck being lost, but we don't see that, so not sure what he is referring to - clearly he was looking at several pieces for this client. Approx 17" tall each. 301 / 544 -
