The obsession of collecting antique dolls began after World War II, a few toy-makers started reproducing a more detailed, larger version of the bisque dolls from the 1800\u2019s.<\/p>\n

An interest in antique porcelain dolls grew quickly when batches were made to depict certain famous people.<\/p>\n

Doll manufacturing spread across the world with many dolls mostly manufactured in Europe, Australia and the United States.<\/p>\n

The first thing to identify is who made the doll in order to determine that it\u2019s truly an antique.\u00a0 Avid collectors will have a certificate of authenticity accompanying their prized porcelain doll, if you don\u2019t have it available, begin the research and identification process.<\/p>\n
