The items in this auction is a Native American hand woven tobacco pouch (bottom right hand corner) which have been carefully preserved in the pictured shadow box for decades. Each item in the shadow box will be sold separately unless someone utilizes the "buy it now" and purchases the entirety of the shadow box with all the contents. Should this happen, this individual item will be removed from the auction. History: Edwin McIntyre worked as an executive for the railroad in the late 1800's. He and his wife resided in Meeker, Pueblo and Colorado Springs, Colorado. They actually owned the land at Manitou Springs and built one of the first three golf courses in the United States. That golf course is now known at the Patty Jewett Golf course and owned by the City of Colorado Springs. As told to the family over the decades, first by Edwin, then by his descendants: Edwin's position with the railroad allowed him to meet Sitting Bull and Buffalo Bill Cody via the travels of the famed Wild West show. The friendships with these two famous people developed to a point that Sitting Bull gave Edwin McIntyre the beaded, leggings, moccasins, head band and tobacco pouches. Buffalo Bill gave Edwin the beaded Native American wrist gauntlets as displayed in the upper right corner of the shadow box. Included are pictures of articles printed in area newspapers regarding the McIntyre family. Wow, what a great piece of history!!!!
