mportant Antique American Federal Quaker made Slant Front Desk. Pennsylvania, 1817. Cherry sides with Mahogany Drop Front and Maple Fitted Interior over 4 drawers. Original hardware. The desk was built by Mr. Caleb Seal, New Garden, PA, Chester County Quaker and one of the Hurfords of Toughkenamon, also a Chester County Quaker family. The desk was made for William Woodward, who was head of the Quaker Meetings in Centreville, Pennsylvania. The desk was purchased at public auction in 1856 by Mr. Commons, also Quaker, of Wilmington Delaware. Measures 40" wide x 22" deep x44" tall. Opened the desk extends to 40". PROVENANCE: The Commons / Phillips Family, Wilmington, Delaware by Descent.

  8. Click Continue to add photos and publish your sale. You will receive a confirmation email from Craigslist to verify the sale. Activate your sale by clicking the link in your email and your done!
  9. Craigslist allows you to re-post your ad every 48 hours. Re-post any sooner and your ad may be subject to removal.
