Large Antique 17th-18th Century Brazilian Voyage / Sea / Officers Trunk, footed, large dovetail, iron hinges, iron lock and key, possibly walnut or dark pine, sold planks, small tray on one side, measures 51”L x 20 1/2”D x 24 1/2”T. The chest inside is 17” Deep and the small tray is 6” W x 8 3/4” D. It is in great condition for it’s age. The only nails used are hand forged ones for the hinges and locks. There are some iron staples embedded on the lid, see photos. This trunk was purchased in Brazil in the 1960’s and shipped to the US. Because of the sold wood planks it is very heavy and can NOT be shipped. It is pick up only unless you arrange for pick up and shipping.
