Solid 19th century sterling nut set - by Towle for Boston based fine retailer Bigelow & Kinnar. A master large nut bowl and 12 smaller bowls for table. Pierced slat sides, rope twist rim, rounded bowl bottom and ball feet. Monogrammed in fancy script GSR for Georgianna Richardson, young Boston woman who married John A. Squire - these would’ve been used in the Squire mansion in Palo Alto. Marked Sterling, Towle hallmark, Bigelow & Kinnar, Boston and 4781 E. Weigh approx 543g.
