Kaminski Auctions’ August 28th & 29th auction features the estate of Colonel Howard “Scrappy” Johnson of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Colonel Johnson retired in 1972 from the United States Air Force after an illustrious career where he was awarded two Silver Stars, two Legions of Merit, seven Distinguished Flying Crosses, and eighteen Air Medals. In 1958 he set a record altitude in the F-104 Starfighter in “Operation Sky High” and received the Distinguished Flying Cross.
