David Yaghoubi was born in Mashhad, Iran in 1943. At the age of six his family moved to Tehran, where he enrolled in The Honarhaye Ziba University of Tehran Painting School. At the age of 16 he moved to Hamburg, Germany to work in his brothers successful Rug business, where he mastered the craft, and became a world renowned expert on Persian and Oriental rugs.
