This estate includes the collection of a former antique shop owner. There are marble top tables, concrete statuary, front porch metal glider, parlor lamps, gone with the wind lamps, oil lamps, quilts, Dresden, fine occupied Japan, early Barbie, Madam Alexander, costume Jewelry including early Hattie Carnegie and pawn silver. There are lovely handworked linens and quilts. There is a large collection of music boxes, and some nice early clocks. There is a pair of Gorham Sterling Chantilly Duchess tall candelabra and a pair of Sterling candlesticks and a pair Sterling platters In Prelude.
A lawyer's oak 5 stack book case and two beautiful walnut rockers are highlights of the furniture. One rocker has Swan carved arms, one has a marquetry back. There is a drop front desk and gorgeous marble pedestal. In addition, there is a king size double lift bed, a country French style twin bed and dresser with mirror, and a fun Mid Century sofa & love seat. An oak pedestal dining table with 2 leaves and china hutch make for flexible serving. There is also a bent wood breakfast set. The kitchen is full with Pyrex, Hall, Tupperware, and small appliances, cookbooks, and linens. We have a large collection of art instruction books and quilting books.
For our Mid Century friends, there is the Tiki Bamboo breakfast set and atomic modern ashtrays. One of our favorite pieces is the porch glider and chair.
The garage is packed with washer, dryer, and a chest freezer. We have a knitting matching, and sewing supplies, There are boxes of transfer embroidery patterns by Aunt Martha. Records, CDs, Cassetes, 8 tracks, DVDs. They are all here as well as the low line stereo record player.
In addition to the garage there is the barn, loaded with tools, Heavy duty automotive garage tools. Cherry picker, self propelled mower, large compressor, 220 fan, and an early Schwinn bike. All the concrete Statuary is going to be sold.
We have turned up two Stetson hats, signed Wingo pottery, and a box of vintage stamps.
The setting is not city central, but it's easy access, -a quick drive and worth it.
