This week we have a super fun sale in Mount Washington that you will not want to miss! This is the home of a spectacular family matriarch known to all who loved her as Grandma Jeanne!

Jeanne was a force to all who knew and loved her...this came naturally to her as a first generation Italian-American child of immigrants from Naples, Italy who settled in Youngstown, Ohio in the early 1900s. This close knit family worked hard in establishing themselves as Americans - but made sure to keep their culture alive through large family gatherings every Sunday and at the holidays and no meal was complete without a pasta dish and always began with a toast of "Bon Appetit" with a glass of red wine! The family weathered the Depression and the lessons learned were well instilled in Jeanne in her strong character, her never missing work, and her frugal nature!

Jeanne settled into her beloved "Castle" as she called this home in 1972. The home is a time capsule of this area with period furnishings and you can almost hear the Italian operas and folk music she always had playing and imagine the delicious smells of traditional Italian meals and baked goods wafting through the home. As her daughter came of age - Jeanne promptly took a job at the downtown Broadway to which she took the bus everyday - but you never would have known as the home was neat as a pin and her lovingly attended to. Jeanne loved to travel and traveled around the world - but at the top of her list of destinations for decades - was the home away from home of her beloved "Rat Pack" - Las Vegas! Her ultimate Vegas nirvana was planting herself in front of a favored slot machine for hours at a time - imbibing Margaritas and only leaving the floor for a quick restroom break or snack!

This dynamo of a lady took great delight and pride in her daughter, her one granddaughter, and her beloved two great-granddaughters to whom her love and devotion was equally returned. Jeanne lived in her "Castle" until her passing at 87 - outliving two husbands and one exclusive longtime boyfriend. This dynamo of a lady had no regrets at the end but one - she had to miss a Vegas trip due to illness and could not believe that her travel companion (who went without her) won a huge jackpot on the slots which just drove her nuts! :-)

On behalf of Jeanne's family - you are cordially invited to her beloved 'Castle" to share in her life treasures and her time capsule of a home!
