This auction lot is for the Thomas Merton Collection of Books, Pamphlets and Associated Papers from the estate of Fr. Theodore Tatman McGill. Fr. McGill, a Lutheran Minister turned Catholic Monk was an acquaintance and student of Thomas Merton. This collection includes approximately 95 books and pamphlets - please see photos for titles. This offering also includes two framed photos and a handful of miscellaneous postcards, holy cards and papers associated with his interest in Merton and the life of monks in general. The lot includes both hard and soft bound books some with dust jacket - all in various shape and handling conditions. Most all the books have been read and used, many have some light underlining and highlighting as this was a student's collection. Note: This would be a heavy collection to ship - but we can accommodate. SPECIAL NOTE: In an upcoming auction we will be selling correspondence from Thomas Merton to Fr. McGill.
