Touted by many professionals as the greatest portrait lens ever. This particular variation in the line is the most sought after of this design. Circa '72-'74, it is the NIKKOR H-C model (C model). It features all metal construction, matte chrome barrel, metal focusing ring and multi-coated optics. It renders virtually perfect, distortion free images at f:5.6-8.0. The compact design (only 4” & 15 oz.) and fast f:1.8 aperture lends it to being hand held at very slow shutter speeds in low light, no flash settings, for those dramatic on location and/or natural light portraits. This one was Nikon Factory AI upgrade modified for use on virtually all later model cameras and can still be used on today's better models of Nikon digital cameras if you don't mind manual focus. Immaculate glass has NO scratches, NO fog, NO fungus. Includes Nikon (dedicated for 85mm) metal lens shade HS-10 for studio work, a folding rubber lens shade with built-in UV Haze protective filter for field work, Nikon front & rear lens caps and a brightly colored high viz padded aftermarket carry bag that won't let you accidentally leave it behind.
