Sentimental framed antique print depicting what was supposedly one of Lincoln's last official acts - commuting the death sentence of a young Union solder convicted of sleeping on watch duty. Here he is shown signing the pardon as he comforts the Mother of the boy. Bad history - but prints like this sold in the thousands after his assassination. Double matted, 11" x 9.25"
