Publisher: High Ridge, MO, Four Freedoms Press, 1987. 1ST EDITION, 1987 Used - Very Good. 250 pages, maps, Very good hardcover First Edition. A hard-hitting book about the defense of the Philippines, Bataan, Corregidor, the Death March, life in prison camps and hellships. It also asks the question: why did so many things go wrong? The subject of this story was a POW for 1,226 days and was a witness at the War Crimes Trials after the war. The author served in the Philippines in WWII and served in Korea later and is a member of the "CHOSIN FEW." The front cover has a mailing address sticker stuck on it but otherwise the book and jacket are in good condition.
