Stunning portrait of George Washington - unfortunately this incredible piece met with a fall and was damaged. We have received restoration quotes around $1200 - but you can obtain your own of course. We have a good deal of paperwork on this piece from the estate. Several appraisers over the years have described it this way: Oil on Canvas. Portrait Study of George Washington, After Stuart, Early XIX Century American School, 30" x 22" in Original Gilt-Gesso Frame. Another stated: 19th Century copy by an artist we are unable to identify. Appears to be a Stuart replica of the original life portraits of Washington in the Boston Museum. We have been told that the value, restored would be in the range of $4,000.00 Smoke free home
